2016 International Museums and Collections Award
Research and Cultural Collections
The University of Birmingham, UK
The IMAC award is received by one student each year at The University of Melbourne, and enables the recipient to travel to the UK and work for four weeks across several cultural collections at The University of Birmingham. During this award placement I was asked to make a series of artwork in response to some of the objects I observed in the collections. The result was this series of small objects made of air dried clay, and cocoons made from found materials, including tree branches. I call this series 'There's no place like home'.
