Refuse Nest Series, found Moroccan materials, 2010. Assilah Morocco.
These two nests Assilah Blue and Leaving the nest, were constructed during the 8th International Women's Contemporary Art Festival, Assilah Morocco, in the Centre Hassan II, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI. Each nest was unplanned and unique. The work responds to my need to seek refuge, to create a temporary home when travelling. I achieve this through the process of making nests from found refuse materials on site so that the final construction connected to the specific location.
