"Home Anywhere, Home Nowhere"

Home is part of our identity as individuals. A home is a psychological and emotional space, and it can influence the shape of our identity. At the time of creation, I was living in Ningbo China, and I wanted to create a synergy between my previous home in Australia and my home in China. Photographs of pavements, trees, walls and other surfaces from the built and natural environment in Sydney, Chinese ink brush paintings I made in Ningbo, and other materials collected during artist residencies in Turkey and Morocco, were cut and reconfigured into these collages. The resulting work is a meditation on what home means to me, and how it changes according to the context I find myself.
