We all desire to be whole and to feel that we belong. Through the process of individuation, a person can fill the holes in their identity and strive for a sense of completion, a sense of wholeness. For an artist, the work of art can be an extension of self, their body turned inside out and the external wounds formed and reformed into solid objects. The process of art is an act of regeneration, a cathartic release and acceptance that the empty spaces within are not voids, put potential spaces for new experiences, for evolution of the self.
